Updates to the 5010A1 Edits

Attention All CEDI Trading Partners, Suppliers, Billing Services, Clearinghouses, and Vendors

CEDI performed updates to CMS 5010 edits as per CMS direction. The updates to the edits became effective Sunday 1/29/2012, however, the changes will not be reflected on the CMS Edit Spreadsheet until the July 2012 version.

The following edits were affected by this update.

• Update 5010 edit X222.494.2440.FRM01.020
  Edit will change from a 999E to a 999R rejection when the 2440 FRM01 value exceeds the TR3 max length of 20 bytes.
  
  
• Update 5010 edit X222.494.2440.FRM01.025
  Edit will be changed to validate that the CMN question response in FRM01 is valid for the CMN form indicated in the LQ02 field.
  
  
• Update 5010 edit X222.133.2010BB.NM109.040
  Edit will be corrected to return the Claim Status Code (CSC) of "153" instead of "53".
  
  
• Update 5010 edit X222.193.2300.REF02.040
  Edit will no longer return the CSC "48". The edit will now return a CSC "761" with an Entity Identifier Code (EIC) "PR".
  
  
• Update 5010 edit X222.328.2330B.REF02.025
  Edit will no longer return the CSCs "48" or "286". The edit will now return a CSC "252" with an Entity Identifier Code (EIC) "PR".
  
  
• Update 5010 edit X222.329.2330B.REF02.025
  Edit will no longer return the CSCs "48" or "286". The edit will now return a CSC "761" with an Entity Identifier Code (EIC) "PR".
  
  
• Update 5010 edit X222.407.2400.REF02.035
  Edit will no longer return the CSC "48". The edit will now return a CSC "761" with an Entity Identifier Code (EIC) "PR".
