Version 5010A1 claim files will not generate the 997 and GENRPT that are currently returned by CEDI for claims sent in the 4010A1 format. The version 5010A1 claims will generate a 999 and 277CA file in the X12 file format. Your software vendor is responsible for providing a way to create these files in a format that is readable. The 999 and 277CA edits are maintained by CMS and are posted to their web site http://www.cms.gov at the following link: http://www.cms.gov/MFFS5010D0/20_TechnicalDocumentation.asp. 5010A1 claim edits will be updated quarterly by CMS with any changes noted on the second tab ?Change Log?. The edit code descriptions provided on the spreadsheet will help determine what action to take to correct the error. |
