Change to Beneficiary ID qualifier in Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA)

The Medicare Beneficiary ID qualifier returned by CEDI in the ERA files in the 2100 loop, field NM108 is being changed from “HN” to “MI”.  This will apply to all ERA files generated by the DME MACs as of the implementation of the October 2018 release – regardless of whether the actual Medicare Beneficiary ID submitted on the claim was a HICN or an MBI.  For more information regarding this change, please refer to the MLN article:  https://www.cms.gov/Outreach-and-Education/Medicare-Learning-Network-MLN/MLNMattersArticles/downloads/MM10565.pdf.External PDF file
